The spirit of experimentation and play that is at the heart of theatre education at LA was stretched and reshaped and teased again during the winter term, but that spirit remained strong.
When we gathered to play in person, we had to ask how we do that in masks and distanced from each other when our work is so much about proximity and connection.
Some of our central questions in our work together were:
How do we fill these digital boxes that are our new "stages," and what do we want to fill them with?
IS this THEATRE? And if not, what kind of new performance form is this?
How can we continue to create work that reflects back on our lives and the world around us?
How do we retain resilience and ingenuity that will help us move forward together.
